Rove Maps Incorporated ("Rove Maps," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Rove Maps mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
Location data. When you grant permission, the App accesses your device's precise location to provide turn-by-turn navigation, nearby place search, and route calculation. Location data is sent to our mapping and place-data providers (Mapbox and Foursquare) solely to fulfill these features. We do not store your location history on our servers.
Search queries. When you search for a place, your query and approximate location are sent to Mapbox and Foursquare to return results. We do not log or store your searches on our servers.
Device and usage information. We may collect anonymous, aggregated analytics such as app launch counts, crash reports, and device model to improve stability and performance. This data cannot identify you personally.
No account or personal data. Rove Maps does not require you to create an account. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information through the App.
We use the information described above exclusively to provide and improve the App's core features: navigation, route planning, and place discovery. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
The App relies on the following third-party services to function:
You can revoke location access at any time in your device's Settings. If location permission is denied, the App will still allow manual address entry and place browsing, but turn-by-turn navigation and nearby search will be unavailable.
Because we do not collect personal information or maintain user accounts, there is no personal data stored on our servers to retain or delete. Location data transmitted to third-party providers during a session is governed by their respective privacy policies.
Rove Maps is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
All network communication between the App and third-party services uses HTTPS encryption. While no method of electronic transmission is 100% secure, we take reasonable measures to protect the data processed through the App.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
